The Senate just passed Trump’s so-called One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a name as dishonest as the bill itself. Now the House votes next, likely on Thursday, July 3, and we have just days to act.
Here’s what this bill actually does:
Kicks over 17 million Americans off their health insurance
Slashes SNAP benefits by 30%, putting 2 million kids at risk of losing food assistance
Eliminates Pell Grants for millions of students and eliminates student loan forgiveness programs
Raises insurance premiums by tens of thousands of dollars and bankrupts rural hospitals
Establishes ICE as the nation’s largest law enforcement agency
Strips essential environmental protections and clean energy incentives, while hiking the cost of your energy bills and increasing the likelihood of electrical blackouts in what amounts to a love letter to big oil and coal
And adds $3.8 trillion to the national debt to fund tax breaks for billionaires and corporations
This is the largest wealth transfer to the top 1% in U.S. history and it’s happening at the expense of nearly everyone else.
